Up one level to Create Opportunity
Blog scores give us the inside scoop on your blog's popularity, from search engine rankings to how many other bloggers link to your stuff. The more people who are interested in what you write, the more exposure an advertiser's opportunity will get if you blog about it. So at PayPerPost, we give advertisers the option of allowing only those Posties with the best blog scores to take an opportunity. The better your scores, the more opportunities you'll be eligible for, the more cash up for grabs! So make up for all those exams you forgot to study for in high school and score well on these. We might even be so proud we'll hang your good grades on our refrigerator.
Within this section of creating your Opportunity you will be able to designate the following:
Maximum Postings is the number of postings for the Opportunity you are creating that will be made available to the Blogger. The only limits to the number would be in relation to your account available balance. If the pricing of your posting exceeds your available account balance you will be prompted to add more money to satisfy the opportunity.
The offer amount is the dollar value associated with each of your post within the Opportunity. As you create your Opportunity and select different segmentation the values in the Offer amount text field will reflect the suggested offer amount based on your elections. No matter what the suggested amount indicates you will have the option of setting a price as low as $5.00 for Text and Press Release Opportunities and $15.00 for Video Opportunities.
After you take an opportunity and write about it on your blog, advertisers can read what you've written and score your post on a scale from 1 to 5 tacks (5 being the best). Advertisers also have the option of banning you from taking any further opportunities from them, which will affect your tack rating in a negative way. The best way to maintain a good tack rating is to always write clearly with good grammar and follow the requirements laid out in the opportunity description. Your final tack rating will be an average of all the scores advertisers have given your posts.
PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important."
Alexa's traffic rank is calculated based on the last three months of data collected from Alexa Toolbar users. Your score is a combination of page views and "reach". The number of page views is determined by how many Alexa Toolbar users visit each page in your website (duplicate visits from the same user on the same day are counted only once). Reach is measured by the number of Alexa users per million who visit your site. The best way to increase (really, decrease — you want to be #1 in this one) your Alexa score is to let people who visit your site know about it. The more visitors you have who are using the Alexa toolbar, the better your score will be. Put up a link to the Alexa Toolbar download on your site and get more of your visitors using it and you will see a decrease (remember decrease is good) in your Alexa score. You can also offer the Alexa Amazon Associate Toolbar, which allows you to create a customized Alexa toolbar for your site and earn commissions for Amazon sales that are generated through your site.

Your Technorati Ranking is determined by the number of sites that point to your blog, relative to other blogs. In order to improve (decrease) your ranking, other bloggers and websites must link to you. You can bring attention to your blog by finding related blog entries by other bloggers and leaving comments that include a link to what you've written. This starts a sort of conversation in the blogosphere and improves your site's rank (and visibility) as more bloggers visit and link back to your site. Keep in mind that your site's content must be worth linking to in order for this to work, so blogging about the greenish tint on your grilled cheese sandwich probably isn't the way to go.
A score of 1 would indicate a website that has the most amount of inbound sources pointing towards it.
